A female entrepreneur arrives in Colombia to pursue a dream of opening a candy shop that will bring sweetness and joy to a region of the world that has been ravaged by armed conflict. But, no matter how sweet her confections are, the locals just aren’t biting. That’s when she looks around her and finds inspiration from two local food traditions: bananas and mazamorra, a pudding-like dessert. From there, the first batch of banana caramel is created and Colombian gastronomy, banana production sustainability, and the lives of the many local women Mazamorra de Uraba employs are dramatically changed for the better.

You’ll meet one such woman, Miss Isabella, and see through her eyes a true story of female strength, cultural and gastronomic evolution, innovation and entrepreneurship — all told with the beauty of Colombia as the backdrop and a special guest appearance by GWF Co-founder and Colombian native Julie Escobar.
